Stroke of Insight – Jill Bolte Taylor

Friday, April 17th, 2009

This video gave me chills. It is about a brain researcher, Jill Bolte Taylor, who ended up having a stroke and was able to recall the exact moments during the stroke. This is an inspirational video to make you (and me) a better parent, spouse, and person.

Enjoy the video!

4 Hour Workweek – Tim Ferriss talks about Overcoming Fear

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Tim Ferriss, the best selling author of the 4 Hour Workweek, did a great talk about overcoming fear.  It is a great 16 minute video that will show teach you how to swim, learn a language, learn to dance, or just overcome any fear that you may have.

If we learn to overcome our own fear, we can teach our kids not to develop the fear to take the risks to succeed.

Enjoy the video!!!

Dad’s Help: Thanks to all the dads who help moms out…

Hey Women, Listen up!!! If your husband is taking your kids to the park in the evening so you get a break, give them lots of Thanks.  Yesterday I went to the park in the evening and all I saw were men with their kids.  I was commenting to one of the men at the park that I think that is great that he is giving his wife a break in the evening.  He laughed and said she is cleaning up the house after dinner.  (It still is a quiet break from their 4 kids.)  Cleaning can be very meditative when there is silence in the home.  Another man at the park mentioned that he went to the park earlier in the day with the kids.  (He gets a double star for twice in one day!!!)  His wife was packing for a Spring Break trip and enjoying her alone time.

I love when my husband takes the kids to the park.  He runs them.  They will spend at least 2 hours in the park.  (My kids are lucky to get over an hour in the park with me since I am trying to multi-task while at the park.)  My kids are ready to go to bed after park time with Jim.  I love it!!!

Whether you use your time for cleaning, packing, or just chatting on Facebook during your quiet time, make sure to THANK your husband for it!!!
